Grade 2: R211 401 per annum
Grade 3: R249 141 per annum

REQUIREMENTS : Minimum educational qualification: Qualification that allows registration with
South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Nursing Assistant. Registration with a Professional Council: Registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant. Experience: Grade 1: None. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration at SANC as a Nursing Assistant. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Nursing Assistant. Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and night duty as well as overtime when necessary. Ability to work in a high stress environment. Willingness to rotate between Wards. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Ability to function/make decisions independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Good communication
and interpersonal relationships. Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation, policies and protocols of the Department of Health, Western Cape.
DUTIES : Assist patients with activities of daily living (physical care). Provide elementary
clinical nursing care. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and selfdevelopment. Effective functioning within a multi-disciplinary team. Effective utilisation of resources.
